Dacia Logan has registered poor results from TUV SUD Germany

Annual report of the Organization TÜV SÜD in Germany has shown a high rate of failures for Dacia Logan, model having weak finishes in the category machines with a length of between 3 and 7 years.

German organization TÜV SÜD has published the results of technical inspections carried out during July 2012-June 2013, conducted in partnership with AutoBild publication.  2013 Edition of analysis came up with praise for Opel Meriva, the Toyota Prius and Porsche 911, while Dacia Logan models, Citroen C4, Chevrolet Matiz and Fiat Panda were ranked at the opposite pole of the competition.  Opel Meriva was the champion of this year's Edition, with a rate of only 4 defect. 2 percent (4. 2 percent of cars inspected were found with defects), surpassing the Mazda2 and the Toyota iQ.  Just like every year, the results were obtained from analysis of all technical inspections carried out in the workshops of the TÜV Germany.

These inspections and the flaws in the study concerns only the incompatibilities of the vehicle tested with German road rules, employing a malfunction that caused vehicle immobility.  During the period referred to above have been checked 7. 9 million cars and nearly a quarter of them had at least one flaw with 4. 9 percent more than in the case of the previous year.

The Germans TÜV SÜD say that the problem is not due to less well cared for cars, but because of the new regulations concerning lighting of vehicles, which are more stringent and including incorrect adjustment of headlamps as defect that forces the driver to come back later for a new inspection.  List of common defects involved elements such as steering system, braking system, planetarele and possible oil leak.

Unfortunately, this year's analysis has brought two last place finishes for Dacia Logan Car categories older than three years and cars older than five years, along with a second-place finish in the category of Cars older than seven years.  Another model that has managed to obtain negative performance two last place finishes at the rate of failure is the Chrysler PT Cruiser, the cars older than seven, 11 years.

In the case of older cars for nine years, Mercedes-Benz ML had the highest rate of failure: 42. 7 percent of the cars tested by TUV had flaws.  In terms of reduced levels of fault, in addition to the Opel Meriva (4. 2 percent to cover model) Toyota Prius, winner of two categories (cars older than 5 years and 7 years old), along with the Porsche 911, the winner of the other two categories, namely cars older than 9 and 11 years.  In the case of each class of vehicles, old German and Japanese models took the top five places, with one exception: Ford Kuga.

According to data provided by TÜV SÜD of the Germans, the most common defect occurred was at the lighting rig.  The rate of occurrence of defective vehicle increases with age, and defects incidence increases with age of the cars tested.  After the lighting system defects, the most common defect was integrated in the category "oil leak engine or transmission".  Problems in the braking system, and planetary suspension came on the following places.
